My wife and I stayed here for a wedding and were glad that we did. The room was small, but cozy with a comfortable queen bed and private bathroom and air conditioning (I've heard the latter two are hard to come by on Block Island). The Innkeeper was super friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were both excellent--homemade pancakes the first day, and great bagels from a local bagel shop the next. Free WiFi, beach towels, and bottled water. Regrettably we weren't there for the wine and snacks hour so can't comment on that. Overall highly recommended.

Horrible. Stay away. Do searches on the web for the owners (chieffo) and also check the local papers. The inn is in bankruptcy. The owners have questionable business practices. Overall, the property is poor with tiny rooms. I'd avoid.

My husband and I and our dog stayed here in a dog friendly room (not all the rooms are). This room is in the rear building. It had a private bath, a comfortable bed, an air conditioner, and a large private porch. It was cozy for the small amount of time we spent inside the room. Things we loved: Inn is a short walk to a large beach on the coast and restaurants at the new harbor. Laying on the hammocks out back. The afternoon snacks spread in the main house. The substantial breakfast. The friendly owner, Dave, who genuinely loves dogs, and who kindly accommodated my special breakfast request. We were so happy to have our dog with us on vacation. I feel lucky to have found this inn and look forward to coming back.

The Island Home Inn was a very nice place to stay but with a few drawbacks. The owner David was great and he was very helpful when we asked for anything. Our room was on the small side with a queen bed and the private bath was across the hallway from the room which was something we were not expecting and a bit inconvenient. The tub/shower was an old style tub and for folks with bad knees and backs it was a very high step to get in and out. However it was kept very clean as was our room. They offer a complimentary breakfast each morning that was delightful with endless coffee and tea. The water for the tea was kept very hot which was great. There is not much worse than tepid water to make tea. They also put out snacks and wine at 5:30 PM which is a nice gesture but it would have been much better if the white wine was a chardonnay in my humble opinion. The snacks were just so so. The Inn was located about 1.5 miles from the ferry, the downtown area and the beaches. Be sure to pull in on the right side of the inn when you check in or you have to bring your bags up a grass hill. The Wi-Fi was free but I found it to be very slow. If we visit Block Island again I'm sure we would consider staying at the Inn a second time.

If you are staying on the island this is a must. The owners are two of the nicest people and very helpful navigating us threw the island restaurants and night life. Location is very quiet but you can walk or quick bike to downtown.

We loved our stay! Bed was very comfortable, cookies were amazing, breakfast was delicious, and the owner seemed welcoming!

My husband and I and out of town friends stayed here for several days, and we really loved it. First, the owners are friendly and very helpful. The home is idyllic (but not fancy) with the front porch with rockers and cute and comfortable Victorian style rooms. They provide a substantial breakfast, which includes fruit, cereals, homemade coffee cake and special dishes everyday ranging from pancakes to scrambled eggs. Around 5:30 in the afternoon they serve cheese and crackers, wine, lemonade and cookies to die for! You will meet other interesting travelers, if you wish. You are within walking distance of restaurants at both Old Harbor and New Harbor. I would definitely stay here again anytime that we wanted a place on Block Island. The Island. by the way, is wonderful in mid-September when we stayed there; prices are down, there are no crowds, and nature is still abundant.

Can't say enough for the Island Home. My husband and I have been there twice now and can't wait to get back. The place is beautiful, the setting is just right (less than a ten minute walk to either "town" or the beach, but in a quiet spot with a gorgeous view), and the innkeepers are super friendly. Breakfasts are hot, fresh and delicious, and there's wine and hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon. The prices are right too, much less expensive than many other B&B's on the island but better all around. Go for one of the rooms on the top floor of the carriage house, you'll get a private balcony with a beautiful view and use of a shared kitchenette.
